A 10-Minute DriveHUD Routine to Find Leaks in Your ClubGG 3-Bet Pots

·3 min read·Tracking Tips

Why 3-Bet Pots Deserve Special Attention

Most players review their database by scrolling through recent sessions or glancing at an overall win-rate graph. That's fine for morale, but it rarely finds leaks. 3-bet pots are different: they're high-variance, high-value, and they expose decision-making under pressure. A single bad habit in these spots — over-folding, over-calling, or misplaying out of position — can quietly cost you more than any other single leak in your game.

Because 3-bet pots happen less often than single-raised pots, players tend to under-study them. That's exactly why they're worth isolating.

Setting Up the Filter

In DriveHUD, build a custom filter for hands where you either made a 3-bet or faced one preflop. Then split that filter into two views:

  • 3-bet pots where you were the aggressor (you 3-bet, opponent called or 4-bet)
  • 3-bet pots where you were the caller or folder (opponent 3-bet you)

Sort each view by big blind result so the biggest winners and losers rise to the top. You're not trying to review every hand — you're trying to find the five or six that cost you the most, because those are usually where a pattern lives.

What to Look For as the 3-Bettor

When you're the one 3-betting, check:

  • Fold-to-4-bet frequency. If you're folding to 4-bets at a high rate across a meaningful sample, opponents in your games will start exploiting that by 4-bet bluffing you more. Note which positions and bet sizes trigger your folds.
  • C-bet follow-through after your 3-bet gets called. A lot of players 3-bet well preflop and then check-fold too many flops, especially when the flop misses their hand. If your database shows a pattern of giving up on specific flop textures (paired boards, low connected boards), that's a concrete, fixable leak rather than a vague feeling.

What to Look For as the Caller/Folder

When you're facing a 3-bet, the two numbers that matter most are:

  • Fold to 3-bet. If this number is noticeably high relative to your usual player pool, you're likely over-folding and giving up equity you're entitled to defend, especially from the button or blinds.
  • 4-bet bluff frequency. Check whether you only 4-bet premium hands. If so, observant regulars will stop 3-betting you light, which quietly shrinks your win rate in a way that never shows up as an obvious mistake — it just shows up as pots you never get to play.

Turning Patterns Into Adjustments

Once you've flagged a pattern, don't just make a mental note — write down the specific adjustment in plain language. For example: "Stop folding BTN vs CO 3-bet with suited broadways; start 4-bet bluffing occasionally with Ax suited from the blinds." Specific, written adjustments get implemented at the tables. Vague impressions like "I think I fold too much" rarely do.

Review this filter again after your next 300-500 hands in 3-bet pots. You're looking for whether the leak shrank, not whether it vanished — these things take repetition to correct.

Keep the Sample Honest

One caution: 3-bet pot samples get small fast, especially if you multi-table on ClubGG. Don't overreact to a 15-hand sample where you ran bad with a strong range. Look for frequencies that hold up over at least 100-150 relevant hands before you trust the pattern enough to change your in-game decisions.

This is really the core value of database study over raw memory: your brain remembers the three hands where your 3-bet got snapped off by a set, but the database remembers everything, honestly weighted. Tracking your ClubGG results this way in DriveHUD turns a vague sense of "my 3-bet game feels off" into a specific, prioritized to-do list.

If you haven't set up hand capture for ClubGG yet, the ClubGG tracker page walks through importing hands into DriveHUD so this kind of review is possible in the first place — start there, then check the setup guide if you hit any snags getting hands to populate.
