The 6 HUD Stats That Actually Win You Money
A cluttered HUD is a slow HUD. New players cram 30 numbers into every box and end up reading none of them. Winning players lean on a handful of stats that answer the questions that actually come up at the table. Here are the six that matter most.
1. VPIP (Voluntarily Put money In Pot)
How often a player enters the pot. It's your fastest read on whether someone is a nit, a reg, or a station.
- ~15–20% = tight/solid
- 22–28% = standard winning range
- 35%+ = loose; widen your value bets and stop bluffing them
2. PFR (PreFlop Raise)
How often they raise preflop. The gap between VPIP and PFR tells you their style.
- VPIP and PFR close together (e.g. 22/19) = aggressive, likely a reg.
- Big gap (e.g. 40/8) = a passive caller. Value bet relentlessly; they call too much and raise too little.
3. 3-Bet %
How often they re-raise preflop. Low 3-bet players let you open wide and c-bet freely. High 3-bet players force you to tighten and trap.
- Under 4% = only premiums; fold to their 3-bets without a strong hand.
- 9%+ = they're 3-betting light; call and 4-bet more.
4. Fold to 3-Bet
The other side of the coin. If a player opens a lot and folds to 3-bets often, that's free money — 3-bet them light and take it down preflop.
5. C-Bet (Flop Continuation Bet)
How often they bet the flop after raising preflop. High c-bet players are bluffing a lot of missed hands; float and raise them. Low c-bet players only bet when they hit; believe them.
6. Aggression Factor (AF)
Bets and raises versus calls postflop. A low AF (under 1.5) means a calling station — value bet thin and never bluff. A high AF (3+) means a hyper-aggressive player — let them barrel into your strong hands.
How many hands before a stat is real?
Small samples lie. Rough guide:
- VPIP/PFR stabilize around 50–100 hands.
- 3-bet / fold-to-3-bet need 200–400 hands.
- C-bet / AF want 300+.
This is exactly why tracking under a player's real username matters: on club apps you'll see the same regs night after night, and a converter that keys stats to usernames lets your sample grow instead of resetting each session.
